Ruben:
I have been always interested in drawing. Ever since I was a child... but my drawings were not very good and gave up on drawing when I was something like 12 years old. One day, I don't remember exactly when – I think I was 17 – I was sitting watching TV – I may be wrong, but I think I was watching The Right Stuff – and I decided to pick a pencil and draw. I drew a Porsche car from a picture, and the result was pretty good. Since then, I started to draw more, not very often but drawing always had this kind of itch.
Fast forward to a month or so ago. I read Michael Nobbs wonderful Start to Draw Your Life (free!), and bought his wonderful ebook Sustainable Creativity (pay what you want, I bought it for 15$). I started to draw almost daily, with my iPad, my iPod Touch or a handy Moleskine and some drawing pens. I scratched the itch, and this blog is the icing on the cake. I'm not very good at drawing, but I enjoy doing it and I hope you enjoy reading/seeing what we draw.
Laia:
I'm a total mess with drawing. You always needed a balloon with a caption, pointing to the subject in the paper to know what it really is... A tree?? Are you sure that's a TREE??!!
I was jealous of Rubén as soon as I saw his first sketches. He always repeated that the only way to learn to draw is drawing (I agree), but every time I tried... my attempts were so demotivating!
You will see a lot of horrible drawings, promise... but I'll do my best to improve my skills. I hope you like the experience too.
